What Are SMART Requirements?

SMART requirements are an acronym for "specific, measurable, attainable (achievable/actionable/appropriate), realistic, time-bound (timely, traceable)".  The principal advantage of SMART objectives is that they are easier to understand, put into practice, and track through to completion.
